Re: A Difficult but Necessary Change at MPU
For years, I have gone above and beyond—through the woods and back—for my students. I have given my time, energy, and dedication, often at the expense of my own well-being. And yet, for some, it still wasn’t enough.I have endured more abusive behavior than anyone ever should—from students who lashed out when they didn’t receive a favorable legal outcome.
One example is a student, PM, who became upset simply because I wasn’t available for hire at the time they wanted my assistance. I looked into their situation and quickly realized it involved a highly contested legal matter—one that required far more time than the short notice they provided.
The irony? The course they were enrolled in covered their case both foundationally and specifically. I know this because thousands of students have successfully used the same material. But when emotions run high, some people lash out instead of taking responsibility for their own results.I have ignored this kind of behavior for years because I understand raw emotions.
I chose to stay in my lane and rise above the hurtful antics—not because they didn’t affect me, but because I was too busy helping other students who actually valued my time and guidance.PM is not the first student to lash out, but I am determined to make sure they are the last. What did PM do? They left a negative review on Amazon—about the course.
First, my book has nothing to do with the school.
Second… WTF?
How disappointing to see someone deliberately try to sabotage the reputation of an advocate who fights against corruption in the legal system.
To be honest, after years of battling both the system and the entitled attitudes of some students, I’m too numb to be hurt by PM’s actions.
Disappointed? Yes. Hurt or surprised? No. Hurt people, hurt people. It’s what they do.
I love my students. That’s why I have always enjoyed spoiling them, going above and beyond, offering extra support, and personally involving myself in their journeys. But unfortunately, some mistook generosity for obligation. Some became entitled.
As much as I love going the extra mile, as much as I love being hands-on, as much as I love making MPU unlike any other legal education platform out there—I just can’t do it anymore. I have finally reached my limit.
This is painful for me, but I must do this to protect my peace. So, reluctantly, I am implementing a new school policy. I hate that it has come to this, because my personal involvement is what made MPU so much better than any other law school in America. Period. But that’s what happens when you care too much.
Here it is—the new school policy. To those who will be affected by this, I am truly sorry. I hope you understand why I have to do this, and I hope one day, you will forgive me.
Just remember: My contribution to society as well as my impact is undeniable. Thousands of students have benefited from my knowledge, and no single act of entitlement can erase that.
This policy change is about protecting my peace, my energy, and my mission—so I can keep doing what I do best without being drained by those who don’t appreciate it.
This is the right move. When I need a reminder of why I do what do, I simply go back and read the thousands of comments and reviews from students who DO appreciate me.
All that to say, I present the new MPU policy (it feels like I’m losing a part of my unique identify so this is my “Jesus, take the wheel” moment).
I still love helping everyone regardless. I know that trouble don’t last and this too shall pass.
Mission Possible University Policy Update: A Return to Standard Educational Practices
For the past seven years, Mission Possible University (MPU) has provided high-caliber legal education, as evidenced by thousands of testimonials across every course, affirming the exceptional quality of our curriculum.
Since our inception, we have gone beyond what any other institution offers—providing private meetings, extended guidance, and additional services beyond our courses. However, no other university engages with student life beyond academic instruction. After years of exceeding these expectations, we are now implementing the same standard policies as other prestigious institutions.
Effective immediately, MPU will align with the standard policies of esteemed institutions such as Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. MPU founder, Dr. Anelia Sutton, along with Crystal Johnson, Director of MPU and the entire MPU team, will no longer engage in student legal matters outside of our educational offerings. Additionally, as part of this transition, the student forum will be permanently closed.
This decision is a necessary response to ongoing unappreciated demands, misdirected blame, hateful and spiteful actions from students who do not receive their desired outcomes. While we remain committed to delivering top-tier legal education, we will no longer tolerate entitlement or unrealistic expectations.
To be absolutely and abundantly clear: MPU provides legal education, not legal outcomes. MPU exists to educate—not to intervene in personal legal matters.
Blaming MPU for an unfavorable legal outcome is as unreasonable as blaming Harvard Law School for failing the bar exam or not securing a job interview at a desired law firm. Similarly, in direct comparison to MPU, it is irrational to hold us responsible for not obtaining a favorable court ruling.
The responsibility for applying legal knowledge effectively remains with the student—just as it does at any other institution.
Our commitment to providing comprehensive legal education remains unwavering, as proven by the thousands of positive testimonials we have received over the years.
We appreciate the understanding of those who respect the integrity of our institution. For any inquiries related to coursework, students are encouraged to utilize the resources provided within their courses.
With gratitude,
Anelia
